Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks"

To start their Classic Album Dissection, hosts Jim and Greg select their favorite songs from Bob Dylan's “Blood On The Tracks” and talk about the cultural context in which the album was released.

Then they revisit an interview with guitarist Kevin Odegard from 2001 about his unlikely participation in the “Blood On The Tracks” sessions in Minnesota and how he wasn’t properly credited for his work.

They conclude with a conversation with Paul Metsa and Rick Shefchik about their book “Blood in the Tracks: The Minnesota Musicians behind Dylan's Masterpiece.”

Dear Listeners,

For more than 15 years, Sound Opinions was a production of WBEZ, Chicago's public radio station. Now that the show is independent, we're inviting you to join the band and lend a hand! We need your support more than ever because now we have to do all the behind-the-scenes work that WBEZ handled before (like buying insurance and paying for podcast hosting, ugh). Plus, we have some exciting ideas we'd like to try now that there's no one to tell us no!
